BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation
Hi, I’m Ruth a friendly sport therapist from Carlisle originally. I deal with a wide range of injuries to muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons and nerves.
Since a young age I have always been active and love a variety of different sports including; climbing, running, canoeing, fell walking, mountain biking, skiing, boxing and the gym. After finishing sixth form I decided to move abroad and work in a ski resort in France to pursue my passion of skiing. When returning to the UK I decided to go to university and chose to study Sport Rehabilitation at the University of Cumbria. I balance my working life with my young daughter Sophia and after university decided it was the perfect opportunity to start my own business, ideally situated in House of Holistics in the centre of carlisle.
Personal Trainer
I’m fun, friendly and very understanding of all your wants, goals and needs.
My own health condition inspired me into the fitness industry, what started out as a way to combat cystic fibrosis opened up many doors, I began working in different sectors of the fitness industry including modelling, supplement companies, marketing, then onto House of Holistics and online coaching.
I’m also the owner of Nutrition Ammunition recipe books, with a new volume released each month with 30 brand new recipes inside, each one has a full run-down of calories and a macro nutrient count per serving- the aim behind this is to help people understand that dieting can still have a sense of freedom while still being both delicious and healthy. Every client gets a free copy when they sign up to train with me.
Hitting our targets sounds simple on paper but we need ideas and a plan of action, that’s where we can help you! I work with each person privately and confidentially to ensure that you have the best possible plan laid out to achieve your goals, whilst providing support, education and motivation.
I’m a firm believer in using a holistic approach towards self improvement and I meditate a lot in my spare time too. Why? The consistent results don’t lie, plus there is nothing more rewarding than helping others this way. Our holistic approach allows a person’s entire life to improve and not just the number on the scales!
The best sustainable results come when we address the balance between mind, body and spirit.
My training, nutrition and meditation are all important factors in why my health is still good today despite lifelong medical problems that need hours of medication a day, I have struggled a lot in the past with various health problems linked to , so I can relate to what many people have been through and assist them to overcome their obstacles.
At our centre, we literally have something for everybody and that’s very important as no two people are the same.
